The project consists of excavation of +/- 45,000 cubic yards of earth and rock to form the Phase III landfill cell. The cell is composed of 48 inches of a low permeability soil liner followed by a secondary and primary HDPE liner and topped with a drainage blanket. The components of the secondary leak detection system are geocomposite and perforated PVC collection pipes. The primary and secondary collection systems consist of slotted PVC collection lines to HDPE double contained pipes to double contained manholes which contain pumps that convey leachate to a fiberglass forcemain.
