Description: Responsible for performing the site work for the new Interchange 17 facilities as a subcontractor to The Pike Company. Work included site clearing and excavation of +/-100,000 cm of soil on 105 acres of land, including 2 large detention ponds. As much as 26,000 cm of this soil could be contaminated. Handling of this material includes preparation of Health and Safety plan and a Material Handling Plan, stockpiling, testing and then disposal of the material according to soil contamination levels. Work also includes building excavation and grading for +/-8 different buildings, including the new exit and entering toll facilities. We are to perform all utility installation, which includes +/- 4,400 lf of drainage pipe, ranging in sizes from 15” to 48” and associated drain structures. Also includes 3,700 lf of sewer pipe and 5,000 lf of waterline varying in size from 3” to 16”. Both the water and sewer lines require 18” and 24” pipe jacking under Route 300 and I-84, both east and west bound. Some of the pipe installations exceed the 20’ depth. Work also includes excavation for electric duct bank and gas line installation as well as the placement of the pavement subbase course and paving the site.

Description: Project encompasses reconstruction of the Exit 17 Interchange on the New York State Thruway in Newburgh, New York. Project includes construction of 6 new bridges, earthwork embankment construction, MSES wall construction, concrete/asphalt pavement, wetland construction, drainage improvements, electrical and lighting improvements, guide rail installation, bored pile installation, sign installation and misc. site improvements.
