Description: Construction of 11.5 miles of pedestrian and bicycle trail from Basin Road (West Hurley, NY) to the Esopus River in Boiceville, NY (Town of Olive, NY) along the Ulster & Delaware Railroad corridor on the North shore of the Ashokan Reservoir. Construction features include removal of a 10’x16’ failed concrete culvert at Butternut Creek, construction of soldier pile and precast lagging wall, concrete abutments, and 75’ span truss bridge, erosion control in sensitive areas along the corridor, construction of +/- 565 lf elevated wood boardwalk over wetlands, repairs/reconstruction of multiple culverts, grading of existing ballast, placing new subbase and top course, creation of access and staging areas, installation of kiosks with interpretive panels, benches, signage, split rail fence, wood railing fence, pedestrian fencing on bridge, cleaning and establishment of swales, plantings, and restoration with native grasses.
