Location: Spring Valley NY
Owner: New York State Thruway
Approx. Rev: $30,800,000

Description: This project involves the complete removal and replacement of the Hungry Hollow Road, Scotland Hill Road, and College Road Bridges over the New York State Thruway with completely new structures. The Hungry Hollow and College Road replacement structures would accommodate two travel lanes, two shoulders, and a 5’-0” sidewalk to accommodate the heavy pedestrian use. The Scotland Hill Road replacement structure would accommodate two travel lanes and two shoulders. For all three bridges, the over-roadway profiles will be raised to meet the 16’-6” minimum vertical clearance requirement. For Hungry Hollow and College Road, the new bridge configurations will utilize a two-span continuous superstructure with high abutments and a median pier. For Scotland Hill Road, the new bridge will utilize a three-span continuous superstructure with integral abutments and two median piers (one in the mainline median and one in the gore between southbound mainline and the southbound ramp to the Garden State Parkway). The approach roadways will be reconstructed at each end to accommodate the new bridge. During construction, vehicular traffic will be maintained on off-site detours. For Hungry Hollow and College Road, pedestrian traffic will be maintained on-site utilizing a temporary pedestrian bridge.
